July 25, 2015 will mark the 10th anniversary of the first day of classes at
The Soulsville Charter School (TSCS).
School spokespersons can’t think of a better way to mark this milestone by announcing that for the fourth year, 100 percent of its seniors have been accepted to colleges and universities.
Among this year’s class of 66 seniors, the largest graduation class yet for the school, they have so far received almost 400 letters of acceptance – an average of approximately six colleges/universities per student. And, the letters of acceptance and scholarship offers are still coming in.
Collectively, 141 seniors in previously graduated classes received scholarships and grants totaling more than $20 million, with the graduates now attending such schools as Rhodes College, Tufts University, University of Pennsylvania, Brown University, and others.
The class of 2015 has so far been accepted to 30 colleges/universities across the state of Tennessee and 91 out of state.
The school’s college counseling team will now be working strategically throughout April and May, meeting individually with each senior and his or her family to review all options on the table.
TSCS Executive Director NeShante Brown happily reports, “Now that 100% of our seniors have been accepted to college for the fourth year in a row, our charge going forward is ensuring that each senior’s post-secondary pathway is the right fit, supporting our alumni's success while they are in college, and continually improving upon our students’ attainment of college readiness while on our campus.”
