The landscape of public art in Memphis has been expanding quickly, making it challenging to keep up. Now a group of students at Rhodes College as made appreciating public art easier with the Memphis Art Project (MAP) website.
MAP is a beautifully designed wayfinding device to creative landmarks in Memphis. Funded by the Center for Outreach in the Development of Arts (CODA) at Rhodes College, MAP provides images, locations, and information to a growing number of public artwork including graffiti, outdoor murals and sculptures, temporary street art, and more. MAP limits the scope of the project to artwork located within Memphis city limits in spaces that are free and open to the public during daytime hours.
