Today, the League of American Bicyclists recognized Lokion Interactive with a Bronze level Bicycle Friendly Business (BFBSM) award. With the announcement of 161 new and renewing BFBs today in 46 states, Lokion joins a cutting-edge group of more than 950 local businesses, government agencies and Fortune 500 companies across the United States that are transforming the American workplace.
Becoming a bike-friendly business doesn’t just provide Lokion employees with a more enjoyable morning commute, but it gives them the opportunity to connect with one another and the community outside work hours. Lokion encourages bicycling as an easy option for transportation and provides amenities such as an in-office bike rack, complimentary refreshments, and incentives such as custom biking gear, competition training, and open employee participation in the Lokion bike riding groups for all levels of expertise.
Lokion’s Chief Operations Officer Mike O’Hearn stated, “Company support of bicycling has increased teamwork and camaraderie for its employees both inside and outside of the workplace. Bicycling is an excellent fitness activity and is an important aspect of Lokion’s overall goal of maintaining a happy and healthy workforce.”
Moving forward, Lokion will have access to a variety of free tools and technical assistance from the League to become even more bicycle-friendly. Out of 17 Tennessee businesses to receive a BFB Award, Lokion serves as one of only two Memphis-area award recipients. Adding to the excitement, Lokion will also celebrate their 15-year anniversary this fall.
