Livable Memphis will host its 7
th iteration of
MEMFix this fall in an effort to help revitalize our city’s historic film distribution center. MEMFix is a series of community-driven events designed to rethink, reimagine, and activate streets and vacant storefronts, and test drive new neighborhoods in Memphis. MEMFix events have been used throughout Memphis to temporarily activate streets, blocks, and neighborhoods, creating vibrancy and demonstrating new possibilities for our communities. Past MEMFix events have already been held in Crosstown, Soulsville, the University District, the Edge district and the Pinch District neighborhoods - each of which has since seen renewed interest and in some cases, significant new activity or investments.
On September 24th, MEMFix: Film Row will take place downtown along Second Street. With pop-up shops, pedestrian-friendly streets, public art, food, entertainment, and more, MEMFix will showcase the South City neighborhood’s potential through participatory visioning, creative placemaking, and bringing residents and stakeholders together to reinvigorate commercial areas.
Livable Memphis is now seeking vendors to fill pop-up retail spaces and set up tables to showcase their services, skills, talents, and unique goods. The organization has opened the application process to small business owners, designers, artisans, and creative works makers of all kinds who are encouraged to apply by August 7
th.
MEMFix is made possible by a unique partnership between Livable Memphis, the City of Memphis Office of Housing and Community Development, Communities Unlimited, Innovate Memphis, and the Urban Art Commission. For more information and to apply for vendor space go
