Dine Out and fight AIDS this month

On April 30, Friends For Life-- an HIV/AIDS service organization in the Mid-South committed to helping persons affected by HIV/AIDS live well--presents its 7th annual Dining Out For Life® in partnership with a number of Memphis’ finest restaurants. Memphis joined Dining Out For Life® in 2009 and is among 60 cities participating in the national effort.

This year’s event organizers hope to raise more than $30,000 to support the programs and services of Friends For Life.

Across the nation, thousands of restaurants donate a portion of their proceeds from this one special day to benefit local HIV/AIDS agencies. All of the proceeds raised in Memphis go to Friends For Life to provide food, housing, support services, education, and prevention services to over 6,000 individuals, families, and community members affected by HIV/AIDS.

Sabine Bachmann, local restaurant entrepreneur and owner of ECCO on Overton Park and Fratelli’s at Botanic Garden, is the Event Chair for 2015. Fratelli’s will be donating 50 percent of lunch proceeds and ECCO will be donating 50 percent of both lunch and dinner. Other restaurants donating 50 percent include Blind Bear, Chez Philippe, Grawemeyer’s, R.P. Tracks and Stone Soup Café and Market. For a complete list of participating restaurants, eligible meals, and percent of sales to be donated, visit the website.
