Palo Alto, Calif.-based technology company
ProudOnTV is moving its Memphis operations from the Clark Tower in East Memphis to the
Emerge Memphis building downtown. The company plans to hire five to seven new staff members in the coming months, including business development personnel, product managers, and an executive assistant.
ProudOnTV touts its private, secure online photo/video diary service as being 'grandmother-tested and kid-approved' and a family-friendly experience.
"We have a private social network. Only the people you invite have access to it, it's not searchable by SEO search engines and your content is yours--you own it, you control it, and you aren't contributing to the content of a service where it can used for unauthorized purposes, royalty free," says Kati Thomas, ProudOnTV Managing Partner and Chief Business Development Officer.
In the past year since coming to Memphis, the company has formed corporate partnerships with local organizations and companies that serve children, families and communities in the Greater Memphis area, such as
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Girl Scouts of America,
Dress for Success, Global Consulting Group and
Sims Financial Group.
"We've been really welcomed by Memphis," Thomas says. "We will do the bulk of our business here, and we are considering making Memphis our base headquarters."
This month ProudOnTV begins a new fundraising effort with St. Jude that will run through St. Jude Marathon weekend in December. All parents and caregivers of St. Jude patients will be given complimentary ProudOnTV family diaries to help them with the coping process and to assist with their efforts to keep in touch with their children during their stay at St. Jude. Supporters will be able to purchase $20 gift cards to use for their own ProudOnTV online diary, with 50 percent of the proceeds going directly to the hospital.
