Unique partnership brings together two Memphis businesses in support of Stax Music Academy

What’s happening: Two Memphis companies, one an expert in sound and the other in taste, have come together to release a special edition chocolate record that raises funds for the Stax Music Academy. The Groovalicious Chocolate Record from Memphis Record Pressing and Dinstuhl’s Fine Candies is now available for purchase and available while supplies last.

Why it’s important: “Memphis is not just a music city, it’s a generous city, full of great organizations and businesses who not only bring their unique offerings to the area, but also give back to their communities,” says Pat Mitchell Worley, CEO of Soulsville Foundation. “This partnership with Dinstuhl’s and MRP is a perfect example of that. We’re grateful for their support and even more excited to see – and taste – ‘Groovalicious.’ It’s these kinds of partnerships that help keep the heart of Soulsville beating and the legacy of Stax alive.”

Proceeds from the Groovalicious Chocolate Record benefit the Stax Music Academy. What it is: The Groovalicious Chocolate Record is “soulfully smooth and deliciously sweet,” per the product description. It’s a 4 oz. milk chocolate bar pressed in the shape of a vinyl record – grooves and all – as Memphis Record Pressing (MRP) and Dinstuhl’s Fine Candies collaborate in giving back to the community; proceeds will go to the Stax Music Academy (SMA).

How to get it: The Groovalicious Chocolate Record is available for $14.95 throughout the next 12 months, or until supplies run out. It’s available at all Dinstuhl’s Fine Candy stores and online.

What they’re saying: “MRP is proud to collaborate with the expert makers at Dinstuhl’s, and are deeply honored to be allowed the opportunity to work along such fine folks to support the amazing organization of SMA,” reads a statement from MRP CEO Brandon Seavers. The collaboration came about in part to celebrate MRP’s 10-year anniversary and National Vinyl Record Day on Aug. 12.
