Among the amenities upgraded were the waiting, break and sleep rooms for the intensive care unit; chapel; physician break rooms; gift shop and an expansion of the main lobby.

Crowds two-step to Broad Avenue for opening of the new Water Tower Pavilion

Last weekend, the Water Tower Pavilion on Broad Avenue opened with its inaugural event, Dance on Broad. The performance, by the Camille A. Brown Dancers of New York, was also the first of an eight-week series hosted by the Collage Dance Collective.

The Pavilion makes use of a still-working, 1940s-era warehouse loading dock owned by Loeb Properties. The facility was retrofitted with a new wide staircase from the street level to the seating area, painted a vibrant palette of colors on the east wall. Funding came from a $350,000 grant by ArtPlace America, and planning was done by landscape architect Ritchie Smith Associates.

Performance dates:
May 17--Salsa; May 24--Swing; May 31--Line Dancing; June 7--Afro House; June 14--Zumba; June 21--Bollywood; June 28--Final Performance, Best of Memphis Dance Concert
