What’s happening: An award-winning, woman-owned marketing firm continues to gain steam in its hometown of Memphis, where the boutique agency
Campfire Collective has quickly established itself as one of the city’s fastest growing firms. The company recently announced a bevy of new hires and the creation of two new leadership positions.
What it is: Shannon Briggs founded Campfire Collective in 2022, transitioning from the smaller Shannon R. Little Communications firm she started in 2015 to become the ever-expanding company it is today. The community-focused firm counts many notable local nonprofits among its clients, and offers social media, public relations, marketing strategy, and email marketing services.
What it’s becoming: Briggs started the company with a team of six in 2022, and has more than doubled its team to 15 employees in 2024; more team members are expected to be hired later this year. The expanding Campfire Collective also recently created several new leadership positions at the firm, promoting current team members to new roles with added responsibilities. But two examples include Mackenzie Grannan being promoted to Team Wayfinder, and Kate Lollar being promoted to Director of Expeditions.
What they’re saying: "Kate and Mackenzie's move out of Content Kindler positions left some gaps," says Briggs. "In addition, we realized that our Content Kindlers were handling more client-facing responsibilities, so we've transitioned several team members to the role of Client Expedition Manager."
Fired up: The recent promotions, new hires, planned new hires, and overall expansion have attracted several new clients to the Campfire Collective roster, the firm attests, including Greater Memphis Chamber, ProTech Services Group, Chuck Hutton Toyota, and MoSH Memphis.
