Crosstown Arts seeking artists for inaugural residency program

Artists needing a workspace can apply for Crosstown Arts' inaugural studio residency program. The program is intended to forebear the 12 units reserved for artist residencies in Crosstown Concourse. Until the ambitious program is up and running in 2017, local artists can apply for the 750-square foot space located in the back of the Crosstown Arts building at 424 N. Cleveland.

The residency will be offered three times a year. An individual artist will have free reign of the space for a four-month period at no cost. There are no specific work requirements, but the program is targeted to visual artists. The artist will also have the ability to host a one-night exhibition at Crosstown Arts' space at 430 N. Cleveland.

Applicants must be at least 21 years and old and not be presently enrolled in an academic program. The application deadline is July 31, and the session will run from September 1 to December 31

To apply, artists should submit 10 image/media work samples, an artist statement of 250 words or fewer, stated residency goals of 250 words or fewer, three references and a $10 application fee.

Applications can be submitted here and interest can be directed to Amanda Sparks. Artists will receive notification by August 5. For more info, see their website.
